STATEMENT REGARDING MISS NORTH CAROLINA USA 2016, ALLIE DUNN
It is with great regret that we, RPM Productions, Inc., have accepted the resignation of Miss North Carolina USA 2016, Allie Dunn. Allie became quite ill in the days leading up to the Miss USA pageant and her condition has continued to deteriorate. A decision was made with the help of her parents, her doctors, the Miss Universe Organization and our office that is was in her best interest to step down as Miss North Carolina USA and return home to North Carolina.
Allie has been an exemplary titleholder since she was crowned in October and has represented the state of North Carolina with grace and class. Our hope is that Allie gets the medical help, rest, and recuperation needed to return her to a healthy state. We are all heartbroken that her dream has come to an abrupt end.
We have informed the first runner-up, Devin Gant, of the situation and she has agreed to assume to roles and responsibilities of the Miss North Carolina USA title, including competing on stage at the Miss USA pageant on June 5. She will be joining her fellow contestants in Las Vegas this evening and we are excited to have her join the RPM Productions family.
